VOLUNTARY ACTION COVENTRY
CHAT CENTRAL ENGAGEMENT OFFICER
28 hours per week, NJC scale point 27 - £30,507 pro rata plus 7% pension
(fixed term post for 2 years)
We are looking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Engagement Officer for our new Chat Central Project. VAC has secured funding through the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver a two-year project aimed at helping people in Coventry to overcome loneliness and isolation.
The role will focus on helping people to feel positive about themselves, to support them to build new social connections and to reduce their feelings of loneliness and isolation through participating in community activities and/or volunteering.
Our Engagement Officer will work with individuals to identify what support they need, whether it is a soft introduction to volunteering by an accompanied visit to see what volunteers do at different organisations or to explore what would help them experience connection and engagement with others perhaps by joining a group or class or linking via social media with others. The Engagement Officer will bring participants together in pairs or small groups where they have similar interests to meet informally for coffee and a chat with a view that they could progress to going to activities together to ‘give it a go’.
