Volunteer of the month MAY

Congratulations Elizabeth Yardley! You are VCSE Alliance Coventry's #volunteerofthemonth May 2023 Thank You for being an amazing Volunteer at Historic Coventry Trust

Elizabeth has volunteered with Historic Coventry Trust for nearly two years. She is a member of their research team and a regular event volunteer. At London Road Cemetery she has completed hours of research into the people buried in the cemetery and the symbols used on gravestones and incorporated this information into tours which she has delivered to visitors. She has also helped to train other volunteers in becoming tour guides.

They held a Burns Night for volunteers in January and Elizabeth researched and performed a collection of Scottish songs based on the performances of Lizzy Stuart, a Coventry songstress who is buried in London Road Cemetery. At Charterhouse Elizabeth has been one of the amazing team of volunteers who have trained to be welcome guides. Elizabeth is passionate about delving into the #history of Charterhouse and generous in sharing her knowledge with other volunteers.

She has also been a regular volunteer at events in Drapers Hall and has joined their Ecology Group to learn more about the wildlife in Charterhouse Heritage Park. Elizabeth puts great effort and passion into her volunteering and is a huge asset to their wonderful team.
