Working together for a better Coventry

Earlier this month we held the VAC AGM and VCSE Alliance Networking event. In a challenging climate for the voluntary sector, collaboration has never mattered more. Our AGM was an opportunity to look back and reflect on the past 12 months.

Voluntary Action Coventry is here to stand up for fairness, celebrate diversity, and protect the services that help people and communities thrive, building a stronger, more independent Coventry for everyone.

Community Engagement and Volunteer Centre Impact

-Launched Get Involved Coventry community engagement platform
-208 VCSE organisations registered
-395 volunteer roles advertised
-1,222 volunteer registrations (up from 592 last year)
-Hosted 153 volunteer support drop-ins
-Released a new website with improved accessibility
-Increased engagement through local events and promotional campaigns

Empowering Lives

-Chat Central engaged 208 participants and delivered 123 events
-Participants reported improved self-confidence and reduced isolation (well beyond the 80% target)
-The Improving Lives team delivered 6 Improving Lives courses with 72 sessions, with 69% of participants feeling optimistic about the future

Collaborative Projects

-Strengthened partnerships via VCFSE collaborative with WCAVA to deliver the priorities of the Integrated Care System, to address reductions of health inequalities

-Launched the Coventry VCSE Alliance Manifesto, strengthening our shared commitment to reduce inequalities, improve wellbeing, and build a fairer, more resilient city.
