John White Community Centre, Binley is a welcoming place providing space where people of all ages can come together, learn, play, and support one another. How do you fancy getting involved with supporting them in their mission? They have two volunteer roles vacancies which might be of interest. Fancy volunteering outdoors, with nature? They have a weekly garden group that meets (Wednesdays, 12.30pm – 2.30pm) who are transforming an unused space at the centre into a community garden and are looking for  Gardening Volunteer Support .  Or if you’d prefer to lend a hand indoors, they have a Reception Cover Volunteer role for which they need support for two afternoons a week (Thursday and Friday). We’re often asked for ways to access volunteering roles that could boost skills associated with teaching. Two such opportunities have just landed. Action Tutoring are looking for volunteers with an hour to spare to support pupils facing disadvantage in Maths or English. View the role here. Schoolreaders supports reading in local primary schools by matching the schools with volunteer readers who visit weekly to listen to children read. Volunteers do not need any specific skills or prior experience, but you do need to be over 18, have good written and spoken English and be able to commit to their weekly sessions for at least a year (although appointments and holidays can be taken during this time). Would you like to make a difference for people with disabilities in Coventry? If this is for you, then take a look at the three roles currently available at The Enterprise Club. You could help in so many ways from being a volunteer minibus driver to helping out in the café. Or you may like to to assist with sporting activities setting up and clearing away of equipment and supervising members while engaging in a variety of activities. No heavy lifting is required.
