Activities this weekend include one for Book lovers – why not drop into Emerald Book Club who are honouring the women who shaped literature and continue to inspire us today. They’re bringing together book lovers, authors, and poetry enthusiasts for a day of inspiration and celebration.
Or how about joining in a Wild Swimming Experience for Women at Burton Farm Café. Going beyond the awareness day, why not search for volunteering roles of services that organisations supporting women provide. Kairos WWT are looking for volunteers for their hobby share role. If you are a woman who has something you are passionate about, good at, or is helpful or interesting, Kairos would love to hear from you – come and show others how you do it! Find out more about Kairos’s role on Get Involved Coventry here.
Parents in Mind offers peer support to women and birthing people who are experiencing wellbeing difficulties whilst pregnant or during early parenthood. Could you volunteer as a peer supporter, for 2 hours a week? You’ll support parents who are struggling to manage the emotional load that early parenthood can present. You’ll work with other trained local volunteers to offer both 1-1 and group support, in person and perhaps online, in which parents can feel heard and supported to overcome the sense of overwhelm, isolation or anxiety they might be experiencing.
