Voluntary Action Coventry invites residents to give back to feel good

World Mental Health Day (10 October 2026)

We’re inviting you to get involved with volunteering to boost your mental health. World Mental Health Day (WMHD) on 10 October. Created by the World Federation of Mental Health to raise awareness of and drive positive change for everyone’s mental health. Throughout the year here at VAC we regularly organises activities that support people to connect with community organisations, and the days leading up to WMHD are no exception!

Looking after your mental health is important every day. Volunteering is a great way to support your own wellbeing. Giving your time to help others can provide a real sense of purpose, build confidence and help you feel more connected to the people around you. If you’re feeling isolated, stressed or simply looking for something positive to focus on, volunteering can be a real boost. Whether you’re supporting a cause you care about, sharing your skills, spending time with other people or just giving a little of your time, these contributions  can really make a difference to you and the people around you.

Sue Ogle, CEO for VAC said:

“At Voluntary Action Coventry we enable people to have direct impact on the world around them through taking part in community action. We know that volunteering can help people find connection and meaning in their lives. Our motto for improving mental health is ‘give back to feel good’.
