Happy Birthday to the National Lottery and a great big thank you to all the players of the National Lottery. Here at Voluntary Action Coventry, we’ve been joining in with the celebrations, taking photos and marking the occasion with crossed finger selfies.

‘GetInvolvedCoventry’, is funded by The National Lottery, and thanks to the players of the National Lottery we can make it easier for Coventry people to connect, volunteer, and get involved. Together, we can make Coventry stronger. 

We know there is huge demand in Coventry for volunteers – we know how much voluntary, community and social enterprises rely on the contribution of volunteers to run their organisations and deliver essential services to those in need. We also know that are many individuals who have time and skills to give but face barriers (real or perceived) which are preventing them from fulfilling their potential.

‘GetInvolvedCoventry’ brings together our projects Improving Lives and Chat Central with our volunteering brokerage service ensuring that anyone who comes to us will get the right support to enable them to flourish and contribute to community activity, volunteering or employment.

Pictured top: Our latest participants on the most recent Improving Lives supported volunteering course have just completed the programme and are looking forward to the next steps of their journey, equipped with knowledge and experience to help them pursue a deeper community connection. 

Pictured below: Caste Away Arts Storytelling held a story telling workshop for Chat Central – they showed the Chat Central crew how to create stories through movement, dance and facial expression. Everyone got really involved, there was lots of laughter, imagination and creativity.
