2% of the national workforce now work in the voluntary sector, according to new figures from NCVO. The sector's workforce grew by 23% between 1999 and 2008, compared to growth of 18% in the public sector and 7% in the private sector. The voluntary sector also has a higher concentration of graduates in its workforce at 38% compared to 37% for the public sector and 18% for the private sector.
