To celebrate National Volunteers Week, Voluntary Action Coventry will be holding a Volunteers Fair, organised by the vinvolved and Volunteer Centre teams.

The vFair will be an exciting opportunity to promote yourselves to a wide range of people interested in finding out more about volunteering. The fair is being advertised to anyone interested in volunteering but with a particular focus on encouraging young people aged 16-25, who may not of volunteered before.

The vFair will take place on Wednesday 2nd June 2010, from 12 noon until 4.00pm at Jumpin Jaks. By choosing a venue which is vibrant and central, as well as being well-known to young people, we are looking forward to welcoming plenty of potential volunteers!

The day will predominantly consist of an open format, where potential volunteers will be able to walk around and ask organisations questions and find out more. However there will also be a range of activities, including a treasure hunt throughout the day, to encourage them to take a more active part in approaching you as organisations. There will also be some great prizes to be won including a Digital Camera for one lucky winner.

Jumpin Jaks based at Coventry Skydome, Croft Road, Coventry CV1 3AZ will be open from 11am for organisations to set up. This event is free for you to participate in, and is the ideal occasion to showcase your organisation and opportunities. There are a lot of people who are interested in volunteering, but find that contacting an organisation by phone or email can be daunting, whereas meeting face to face can be a real bonus for both parties.

We are promoting the event at Schools, College and Universities around the City as well as key City Centre locations, such as libraries and Community noticeboards. There will also be posters and flyers on the day to drive people to the venue.
