TimeBank reports festive boom in volunteer figures
We start getting calls from September right through to the end of December so we know that volunteering during the festive season is really popular.
Christmas is wonderful time to think about ways to spread festive cheer. All kinds of people want to volunteer at Christmas.
Some want to give something back to their local community, others know that they will be spending Christmas Day alone and want to volunteer and meet new people.
Above all volunteers want to get into the spirit of giving and being part of their community.
Many of our enquiries are around homelessness as this is an issue that people care about at this time of year.
Volunteers also want to be able to do things from home which is why we offer ideas that people can spend a small amount of time on and still have an impact.
We also get enquiries about New Year volunteering. People are often thinking of new ways to get fit in the New Year as part of their resolutions.
