‘Starting up’ Small Charity Constitution
A new model constitution is now available from the charity commission which has been produced in partnership with nine umbrella organisations across the sector.
This constitution is suitable for small charities with an annual income of less than £5,000 who don't own a building or employ people and do not intend to register with the Charity Commission.
The model constitution uses clear and concise language and is only 700 words long. It is intended as a practical and helpful document for people wanting to set up a very small charity. The constitution is a useful addition to the model constitutions produced by The Charity Commission and other organisations.
Please click here to download the PDF document or refer to the Charity Commission website for more information at http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/.
Important: Charities with an annual income of less than £5,000 don't need to register with the Charity Commission BUT all charities are subject to Charity Law. If the annual income grows above £5,000 then the charity will need to register with the Commission.
