Following the media coverage about the Dr Foster findings about patient safety at University Hospital Coventry LINk used its power to request information to seek information about current practice and to understand why the Trust thought it has been rated in this way. LINk received a full response to all of its questions and data showing that current mortality statistics have improved.  The rating from Dr Foster was explained as resulting from issues with the coding and recording of information about patients and assurances were given that this had been addressed.
