Community Matters (the National umbrella organisation for Community associations) are currently finalising a development tool called: - ^preVISIBLE

This tool is intended to test the systems that an organisation has in place via a series of online questions and requests specific pieces of supporting evidence (as attachments).

^preVISIBLE is drawn primarily from three checklists in the Independent section of the main VISIBLE Standard. which look at managing resources, managing paid staff and managing finances.

It enables organisations to assess what might be their required areas of improvement and supports them to check if they are fit for purpose and legally compliant.

Community Matters can conduct an independent review producing a report NB there is a charge for this service.

^preVISIBLE applies to groups of any size, particularly those who may not be ready for the requirements of VISIBLE or feel that the ^preVISIBLE version is more applicable to their organisation

The ^preVISIBLE Review should be available online from the end of the year (2009) and the Community Matters website http://www.communitymatters.org.uk/ will display full details in due course
