The overall aim of Journey to Employment (J2E) was to improve work and health outcomes for disabled people or those who have a long term health condition.
What was J2E?
J2E took a different approach to employment support. J2E allowed you to think about the type of support you needed to move into employment.
Why should I attend J2E?
J2E provided an opportunity for you to talk to people in similar situations, access information about employment support and discuss any queries and concerns.
Do I have to take part?
No, but this was an opportunity for you to see if the J2E can give you the support you wanted and needed to gain employment.
What was involved?
You attended once a week for 12 weeks, topics covered: CV preparation, interview techniques, travel training, volunteering taster sessions as well as social activities. After the 12 week programme you could have continued to meet with the Community Employment Specialist for on-going support.
