Accelerate has been running in Coventry since 2016, helping hundreds of local people who have been furthest from the jobs market during that time. With a variety of partners across the city, we have jointly supported unemployed people to upskill, volunteer, train for new jobs, gain meaningful employment and improve their mental and physical health.
VAC’s Journey Guide Tia meets regularly with her Accelerate participants to offer personalised support. She assists her clients to identify their aspirations and access the volunteering, training, courses or support needed to build their confidence and set them on the path to achieving their goals.
The celebratory event included presentations on the success of the programme so far, statistics on how many people we have supported and continue to help, Partners and Journey Guides showing what they have enabled people to achieve and participants who have been through the Accelerate programme telling their stories of success.
Tia and several of the participants she has supported were able to share their personal accounts and accomplishments since taking part in Accelerate and were awarded with certificates and vouchers as recognition of the journeys each of them had been through.
