VAC’s Health & Social Care Networking project finished its current funding on 30 September 2015. Its focus over the last three years have been on the transition from PCT to CCG, building relationships between voluntary organisations and the new CCG senior management, culminating in recent work with clinical leads around diabetes, stroke, urgent care, end of life care, etc and direct work with GP practices around promoting awareness of voluntary sector services.
Coventry & Rugby CCG core funds VAC along with the City Council and so we will continue to have health & social care as one of our key priorities. We will be prioritising and re-shaping our offer as follows from 1 October 2015:
- We will merge all our current health & social care forums and seminars into a single Health & Social Care Network, following the new format developed for our Children & Young People – Voluntary Sector Network (CYP-VSN). Events will largely focus on specific issues with more time given to facilitating problem-solving through table discussions with key statutory sector personnel, with less emphasis on a speaker/Q&A format with multiple presentations.
- Our separate Health e-news will now form part of VAC’s monthly e-bulletin (which is free for VAC subscribers) and Partnership Informer will no longer be published.
- The Health & Social Care Directory has now been merged into the new online Directory of local voluntary and community organisations registered with VAC.
Director of Policy & Partnership Rob Allison currently leads on the CYP-VSN and Community Safety Forum and will lead on the Health & Social Care Network.
