Salary: £12 per hour
An interesting opportunity has arisen for someone with a background in travel, charity or health and social care looking for some paid sessional work.
Cherish provides subsidised five-day holidays and day-trips for people with dementia and their carers in the Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull area. The trips are highly valued by the clients because they help couples re-connect with each other, make new friends and give carers a well-earned break.
They are looking for an organised and personable individual who is sensitive to the needs of people with dementia and their carers to help organise two five-day holidays and one or two day trips over the next year. The budget allows for around 300 hours’ work, plus travel, which can be worked flexibly throughout the year to meet the needs of the project and your availability.
You would be assisting the charity’s founder who has been planning holidays and trips voluntarily for eight years.
This could be a very enjoyable and satisfying role for an organised person in good health who may have recently retired, or is looking to work extra hours, involving visiting hotels and day venues, negotiating price, planning itineraries, paperwork, budgeting and accompanying couples on their holiday or trip.
The project is Lottery funded and you will work with an evaluator who will assess the financial and practical feasibility of employing paid staff in the long term.
Please email Janet Wright at email@example.com to request a job description and person specification.
A 2 page statement addressing the criteria in the person specification should be returned by noon on Wednesday 17th May. If you would like an informal chat, please also email your phone number to Janet and she will give you a call.
The successful applicant may need to be registered as self-employed with HMRC for tax purposes.
