Influence the future of the voluntary sector in Coventry

Join our AGM at the Coventry Central Hall for a chance to network and influence the Voluntary and Community Sector in Coventry.

Starting at 10am on Wednesday 8th December, delegates will get a chance to hear more about Voluntary Action Coventry’s current projects and take part in workshops on the following themes:

  • Poverty and inequalities: What role do the VCSE play in addressing these issues in Coventry?

  • Volunteering: How do we unlock potential energy and assets and embed volunteering behaviour as the norm?

  • Covid-19: What impact has the pandemic had on the sector in Coventry and what challenges are we still facing? Are there ways we can support each other?

  • Influence and voice: How is the sector’s voice represented locally? What opportunities are there for us to influence and affect change?

If you have knowledge and experience of the voluntary sector, can think creatively, and contribute to the strategic vision of Voluntary Action Coventry, then we’d like to hear from you. Our trustees give their time and commitment to setting our overall vision and direction, while ensuring we are well managed.

Lisa Carroll, VAC Co-Chair and Head of Children Families and Youth at YMCA Worcestershire says:

“As a charity leader I have seen first-hand the positive impact that trustees can bring. I also recognise the value of charities like Voluntary Action Coventry who are uniquely placed to offer much-needed direct support to local people, to advocate for them and for the wider charitable sector across various forums. I am delighted to be able to put something back into my local community by volunteering as a member of our board.”
