Cherish Dementia Trust

Cherish Dementia Trust are recruiting a Seasonal Holiday Planner £12 per hour

Sessional Holiday Planner £12 per hr

Following our successful appointment last year of our first Holiday Planner the demand for our services has continued to grow.  In order for us to provide for this demand, we are now seeking a second member to join our Organisation, someone with a background in travel, charity or health and social care looking for some sessional work.

Cherish provides subsidised five-day holidays, day-trips and lunch trips for people with dementia and their carers in the Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull area. Our trips are highly valued by our clients because they help couples re-connect with each other, make new friends and give carers a well-earned break.

We are looking for an organised and personable individual who is sensitive to the needs of people with dementia and their carers to help organise a five-day holiday, one day trip and lunch trips on a bi-monthly basis over the next year. The budget allows for around 200 hours’ work, plus travel, which can be worked flexibly throughout the year to meet the needs of the project and your availability. You would be assisting the charity’s founder who has been planning holidays and trips voluntarily for eight years.

This could be a very enjoyable and satisfying role for an organised person in good health who may have recently retired, or is looking to work extra hours, involving visiting hotels and day venues, negotiating price, planning itineraries, paperwork, budgeting and accompanying the couples on their holiday or trip.

Cherish receives donations from a variety of organisations including  the Heart of England Foundation, The Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire and many individuals who donate regularly.  A fund raising committee is in place and a successful applicant would be welcome to bring any skills or experience they may have to this group

Please email Janet Wright at  to request a job description and person specification and return  a written statement of no more than 2 pages addressing the criteria in the person specification by noon on Monday 14th January. If you would like an informal chat, please email your number to Janet and she will give you a call.

It is likely that the successful applicant will need to be registered as self-employed with HMRC.
