Connecting Communities Consultation

Connecting Communities consultation is underway - Family Hubs, Children's Centres, Youth Provision and Libraries - and special voluntary sector event on 22 November.

The consultation process for Connecting Communities Phase 2 opened yesterday and runs to 12 December. It covers children's centres, the proposed Family Hubs, youth services and libraries, and includes the re-opening of the Transition Fund. There is a whole suite of documents and dates of various consultation meetings here:

Under the proposals, 14 children’s centres for 0-5s will be replaced by 8 Family Hubs for 0-19s, with the Council pulling out of directly providing nursery provision, and replacing universal youth services with targeted provision aimed at the most vulnerable children & young people, co-located within the proposed Family Hubs. The Council will also be holding a consultation meeting specifically for voluntary sector organisations on 22 November 2016 from 2 to 4 pm which will particularly focus on Family Hubs and what these might look like. The venue is Council House, Diamond Room 2 and places can be booked by e-mailing:
