The NOCN Level 3 Award in Managing Volunteers is aimed at those already working in smaller and medium sized organisations as managers of volunteers in a paid or unpaid capacity.
It is particularly suitable for those who are:
- New to the responsibility of managing volunteers
- Existing managers who do not have a qualification in this area
- Working in the sector, who wish to progress to a managerial role
Unit 1 Concepts and Values in Volunteering
6th & 18th May
This unit aims to enable the learner to:
- Identify the nature of volunteering
- Describe the roles and responsibilities of volunteers
- Describe and evaluate organisational practice with respect to volunteers.
Unit 2 Valuing your Volunteers
20th May & 8th June
This unit aims to enable the learner to:
- Identify good practice when recruiting volunteers
- Identify good practice when working with and managing
volunteers - Evaluate organisational procedures and policies in terms of their impact on volunteers
Unit 3 Social Policy for Managing Voluntary and Community Organisations
22nd June
This unit aims to enable the learner to:
- Develop an understanding of the impact of social policy on an organisation
- Identify how organisations may influence the development of social policy
