July 2009- New resource booklet 'Want to make a difference?'
July- New booklet resource called ‘Want to make a difference?' This is a 16 page booklet and is a guide for young decision makers in the voluntary sector. It is aimed at 16-25 year olds who want to volunteer as decision makers in their local communities and neighbourhoods. We are keen to encourage increased diversity on trustee/committee boards but recognise that getting young people interested in this type of volunteering can be difficult. This booklet is again a resource for groups to use to encourage young people that access their services or show an interest in their activities to think about being a decision maker and ultimately becoming a board member. The booklet will also be directly used by our vinvolved team and the volunteer centre to encourage young people to aspire to and work towards being a decision maker in the Voluntary Community Sector.
The booklet will be sent out to all members in the July end of month mail out and again if groups wish to have additional copies then please contact Kate Harris (NB subject to availability) however a PDF version can be accessed by clicking here.
