Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) 'Vetting and Barring Scheme'
From November 2010 (New forms are available form July) almost all new volunteers working directly with children or vulnerable adults will have to register with a new 'vetting and barring scheme' through the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). Individuals should already be reporting people to the ISA where there are concerns about their behaviour towards vulnerable people. Mark Restall - Trainer and Consultant on Volunteer Management delivers this workshop and will explain how the system differs from the current Criminal Records Bureau process, and what your new responsibilities will be. The focus will be on giving you practical information in plain English.
Please note that the new forms are out July 2010.
