Governance

This space will be used to provide information and guidance on Good Governance which is a pre requisite for any VCO that wants to be effective and survive into the future.

The Quality and Governance Project supports voluntary and community organisations (VCO) to have strong and effective committee/Trustee boards.

It is recognised that VCO often do not have enough board members or the range of relevant competences and skills to oversee and deliver the business of the organisation. There are increasingly more demands and complex issues for boards to manage and keeping up to date with changes in regulations/legislation are constant challenges.

There is however lots of resources and support provisions available to help VCO to have in place Good Governance.

The project will assist groups locally to access and utilise the most useful and relevant governance tools, broker trustee volunteering, deliver one to one group support on specific governance issues (in conjunction with the Funding Advise Group Support Team), provide training and networking opportunities and champion best practice within the sector.

If you would like more information on this support please contact the project coordinator Kate Harris on k.harris@vacoventry.org.uk
