Coventry Partnership has been developing a framework to give greater consistency between different organisations when they inform, consult or involve local people in decision-making. Rightly or wrongly, consultation is often dismissed as a ‘tick-box' exercise with little effect on final decisions but this can lead to some really good work being missed. The framework seeks to address this by giving clear guidance to increase the clarity, consistency and quality of work, including clarity over its scope and the extent to which decisions can be influenced.

The draft framework will be discussed at a workshop on the morning of Thursday 22 July and VAC has five places available for our members on a first come, first serve basis (one per organisation, unless any spare). Please e-mail Rob Allison at r.allison@vacoventry.org.uk
