Coventry groups find VAC booklet ‘thinking of being a trustee?’ useful and relevant

Feedback from groups on the Trustee booklet:  ‘thinking of being a trustee? A guide to everything you need to know'

This booklet was distributed to all VAC membership groups during April/May 2009. The booklet also appears in PDF on our website.

A number of groups have also requested and been sent further copies of the booklet. During January 2010 we asked these groups to give some feedback on use and usefulness; 12 groups replied.

The booklet was considered to be very useful by these groups who have used the booklet, in varying degrees, for the following purposes:

  • for general information purposes
  • to help explain the role of being a trustee to prospective trustees
  • to help induct new trustees
  • to support existing trustees

Comments from groups included: -

‘Clarifying the purpose of Trustees at local level' and ‘clear information, easy to read-excellent resource'

This ‘snapshot' of user feedback demonstrates that the booklet has been very well received and has been beneficial to groups. The original intention for producing the booklet was to support groups to provide basic booklet information on the roles and responsibilities of Trustees which could be used to help with the promotion of vacancies and support new and existing Trustees. Feedback collated shows that these objectives have been achieved.

If you would like additional copies of this booklet then we do have a small number still available for distribution to groups please contact the Project Coordinator Kate Harris on 024 7622 0381 k.harris@vacoventry.org.uk
