Third Sector Assembly Summit
Members of the Third Sector Assembly Steering Group met with Cabinet Members of the City Council on the 26th September 2011 to discuss what impact public expenditure cuts have had on the voluntary and community sector and vulnerable people in Coventry so far.

Voluntary,Community and Social Enterprise Sector Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Briefing Review
Voluntary Action Coventry supported an event at the Ryton Organic Gardens on March 29th 2011, in collaboration with Regional Action West Midlands (RAWM) and Coventry and Warwickshire Infrastructure Consrtium (CWIC). In total 45 representatives from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector from Coventry and Warwickshire attended and listened to the following representatives. Bruce Undy, Regional Chair for the Federation for Small Businesses spoke about the needs of the LEP to look at where businesses are achieving success. He also highlighted the importance of awareness of what the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector are doing.
Following the speakers presentations the attendees were invited to discuss what the LEP can bring to the sub region and what shared priorities there are in moving ahead, the questions posed were, as follows;
- What can the LEP bring to the sub region?
- What priorities for action do the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector and LEP share?
- What is the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise contribution to the economy?
- Suggestions for facilitating the involvement of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Sector Organisations within the LEP.
