The Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) is the Government's assessment of how well public services are being delivered in Coventry. Rather than the previous system of agencies being inspected separately in isolation, this new approach assesses overall performance by all agencies against key issues. Organisations are still assessed, but the results feed into the overall area assessment.

The CAA assesses how well agreed priorities reflect local need; the outcomes being delivered against those priorities; and the improvements being made or still needed. The results will be publicly available through the Audit Commission's website.

The process is underway and publication of the final assessment is expected in December.
